A Little Behind

Had a bit of a wake up call the other day.  Someone made a comment that I had not updated my Dropshots account in quite some time.  Little did I realize just how long it had been.  It appears that I had not put any really serious effort into the pictures posted there since May 3rd, 2011.  That takes it back to part way through the Disney Cruise to Alaska that we took.  And that wasn’t even completed.

So if the Alaskan cruise wasn’t even completed that meant there was lots of other things that were missing from there as well.  Such as the trip Shannon and I took to Ottawa to attend a Conservative Convention, lots of pictures of the girls’ soccer games, Shaelyn getting awards from school and even our trip through the Okanagan that we took during the August long weekend.  I couldn’t believe it but I hadn’t even added the pictures from the Grey Cup game in Vancouver where the BC Lions won the championship game!

Facebook has taken over some of the postings throughout the year.  But I don’t feel i have the same flexibility nor the ability to add as many pics to Facebook as I do to Dropshots.  Dropshots is also much easier for me to upload pictures, but the “tagging” that is available on Facebook is pretty neat feature that I miss on Dropshots.  With the time it takes to post on to both sites, something has to give, and that is usually Dropshots (at least it seems so), mainly because I don’t seem to get the comments on Dropshots that I get on Facebook.  Let’s face it, comments help you to know that others are actually looking at your pictures, which is what you really want otherwise you wouldn’t post them in the first place.  Facebook’s tagging feature and status updates makes it much easier for people to realize that new pics have actually been posted, while on Dropshots, I have to actually tell people to take a look.

What I have decided to do is post SOME pictures to my Facebook page but the majority of them will be posted on Dropshots.  If you see a picture on Facebook, you will more than likely find more pictures giving possibly more details over on my Dropshots site.

So this weekend I spent a little bit of time to upload a few pics to get back on track.  I uploaded somewhere around 200o pictures to Dropshots.  Sadly I did not have enough time (nor energy) to actually go through them all and make comments.  It was tough enough just picking out the pictures and getting them uploaded to begin with.  For my cruisemates who were on my back to back Disney Cruise from LA to Alaska, i managed to compile all the pics into an “album” on Dropshots which you can easily access here.  I created other albums for our trip to Ottawa, our trip to the Okanagan and for the Grey Cup.  Not to mention, there are pictures for lots of things in between.

Head on over and take a peak.  And don’t be afraid to make a comment on the pictures so I know you’ve been there.  Hopefully I will get back on track and stay up to date from here on out.
